Next get familiar with your tools, particularly the options that allow you to do selections, and selection modification.

Depends on what it is you want or need to do to a picture... When you repair something you are fixing 1 specific part, like a car.. If you asked a mechanic to repair or fix your car he will ask where, what is wrong, and go to that one spot.. Photoshopping a image is the same way. It's usually 'fixing' one area or thing, like red eye.. . So, the how part depends on the what part... . You need any image editing program that allows you to manipulate the image. The term "photo shopped" is generic anymore to mean the image was manipulated but NOT necessalary by the program with the same name - Photo Shop.

You need to learn how to use photoshop which takes quite a while. If you search for compositing pictures you can probably find a tutorial. I can't imagine how a teacher expects you to do this without having taught you photoshop.

all i did was get a photoshop book it had 500 pages very helpful look online you can get on for graphic design or photography it depends on how you intend to use photoshop.
