What is a good skateboard to use?

What paint should I use for the bottom of my skateboard?

  • I plan on buying some blank decks and painting them myself, but I'm not sure what kind of paint to use. I've worked a lot with acrylics and watercolors, but I'm pretty sure those would rub/rinse off with the abuse a skateboard gets. I'm mostly going to be using hard shapes with little blending. Do you think spray paint would work okay?

  • Answer:

No matter what paint you use, it'd probably be good to prime them first. If you like using brush paint, like acrylic or watercolor, you could use those and then spray over it with a couple layers of clear coat spray (it's like transparent spray paint–you can probably buy it at your local hardware or art supply store)

I suggest you get all the colors your gonna use in spray paint, and if your gonna make shapes, get some masking tape, spray the color of the shape first, tape off the shape, and spray another color over it. When your done get a clear coat spray paint to protect the paint job.

Spray Paint would probably work. if you are going to use the blank decks after you paint them Watercolors would rub off. Spray Paint takes a bit of time but if you cant work with that stick with the Watercolors and Acrylics, they will rub off but not immediately. it depends how long you would use the board and what tricks youre doing. :]

Spray paint. They could stay on anything. If you don't like the way it look spray over it and make new design.I can swear by it in school I was in the mural club & graffiti. In mural we use oil paint and regural one after a few weeks the students scratch them off. The mural we made in grafffiti was made outside with spray paint look better than ever rain fall on it and still look the same it will take at least tree years or two for it to wear out.
