Do you work at the Container Store?

What is the most anooying or worst advice you have gotten from a pet store worker?

• i went in to buy a filter for my betta tank yes its 5 gallons as my old one kicked the bucket and the lady in the store said to me "dont put a betta in a filtered "container" they will look at them selves too much and then they kill themselves as the filter will make them move too much and they dont like warm tanks as they come from antartica" WTF she has ovbioulsly never taken any notice at school calling a 5 gallon tank a container it makes you wonder why they even work there im still laughing about it now tell me your story will pick best answer

  Most of the bad advice I received were about Bettas too. Let's see, this list is long: "Oh, no, a baby pleco will definitely thrive in a 10 gallon tank..." Luckily, I had already did my own research. "Bettas can NEVER be housed with ANYTHING..." Betta Tanks: 2o gallon tank: 7 females, 1 male...20 gallon tank: 5 females, 1 male....20 gallon tank 1 male, 5 otocincluses, 75 gallon tank: 1 female Betta, 2 baby plecos (Yes, I know, I'm upgrading soon, though for the plecos), 12 minnows, All these tanks have been stocked for at least a year and all are thriving. "Otos are easy to care for and keep the tank clean..." psh....lol "Yeah you could probably keep 8 or 9 goldfish in a ten gallon....totally..." Advice given to my mom. "Minnows are feeder fish and won't live long in a community tank..." psh...proved that wrong...Though, I'll admit that 3 did die, but they died before we even started to drip acclimate them, in the bag. All the others are thriving after almost a year, and have gotten big. I could go on forever...lol...It's part of what drove me to join Y!A to correct bad information. ;)
