Are PC Games Region Locked?

My pc wont play region 1 dvd's anymore help?

  • I just bought a pc and I discovered I could change the region code so I spent quite a bit of cash on tales from the crypt dvd box sets I watched a few of them but now it wont play them anymore it says I can only change the region 5 times now it's locked to region 2 what can I do?

    Install Region+CSS Free and the problem will be gone. If that doesn't fix it, make a fresh windows install and then install Region+CSS Free. Download it from here: http://www.dvdidle.com/download.htm

Yes that's right, you can change the region a limited number of times. It's a the manufacturer's ploy to get you to part with your cash, although it serves only to annoy people. I am not aware what you can do about it, if anything. One suggestion I have is that you put another DVD drive in your P.C., and use each drive for a dedicated separate region. I hope the cost of another DVD drive is not prohibitive, as they are easy to fit, you should have a spare drive bay.
