With the 3D specs finalized for Blu-ray will older players be able to support it with a firmware update?
-
3D Blu-ray specs are finalized and it has been announced that the PS3 will have a firmware upgrade to incorporate 3D playback. Is it technically possible for other top of the line players (i.e. LG BD 390) to add 3D playback support with a firmware update or is there something special with the PS3 that would make it impossible to have other players incorporate it with a firmware update?

Answer:
Yes, as long as the hardware inside the players can handle the 3D (in terms of speed and memory) and as long as that player can be updated.
