Left speaker makes a crackling noise?

Speaker problem: crackling & popping noise when electronics are turned on in another room?

  • Ok, so my computer speakers are hooked up to my computer´s sound card. They are 5.1 Logitech speakers, hooked up to the soundcard by 3 mini stereo plugs. The speakers along with all my other computer stuff are plugged into a UPS, and the UPS is plugged into the wall socket of my bedroom. So here´s the problem: I set up a christmas tree in my living room with blinking Christmas lights. Every time the lights blink on, my speakers makes a brief crackle. Any idea why this would happen?

  • Answer:

There are a number of ways that this problem can show up.Here is a list with possible fixes for your problem: A-The volume control on your speakers is set too high and the system volume is set too low. Lower the speaker volume control and raise the volume with the system control instead. B-Right click on the speaker icon located at the bottom right of your task bar and select the volume control setting. Click MUTE on the line, aux. and any other inputs you're not using. This should resolve your problem. PS Also unplug any cables connected to your sound card except the one connected from the Green jack to your speakers. Good Luck
