How does pausing live TV work with Sky+ and Virgin+?

I'm having problems with my magic eye with sky HD?

  • I live in a two bedroom apartment, each has it's own tv aerial outlet as well as the main one in the living room. I have a sky box in the living room only but as the feeds are connected through the walls to the bedrooms I can receive a good sky picture in the other rooms (when sky is on) I recently purchased a magic eye so that we could change channels in the bedroom. This is where my troubles started The LED does not come on when connected to the back of my second TV It does come on when connected directly our of the main aerial socket and when plugged directly into the RF output in the sky box. I have the second Tv on the correct channel and have turned the RF Outlet to "on" I thought maybe there was not enough of a signal from the main tv as its travelling through the length of the apartment so I purchased a booster which is digitally accepted, but this ha shade no difference. Still can get the magic eye to work. Everything is connected correctly but I cant seem to get the power I need to the magic eye. Has anyone got any suggestions? I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure out what I have done wrong. My only other option now hat I know of, is to run a separate aerial cable directly from ther RF 2 to the tv in the bedroom and see if that works, if it does then I will have to run the separate wire all the way around the apartment which I would like to avoid. Please help!

  • Answer:

The correct way to wire the system is to run a coax cable between the 2 tv locations and will work every time. The aerial system to the three rooms if interconnected are feeds from the aeriel, by connecting the RF2 via coax to the main socket you are trying to send the signal back possibly through a distribution box in the loft /void space that may not allow the 9volt signal to pass. If you are not using the aeriel to provide digital terrestrial signals and have access to the void by-pass any distribution/booster box and join the cable from the main socket to the point in your bedroom. As long as you have made good electrical connections the 9v power supply to the eye should light up the LED and operate the box remotely
