Is DSL fast enough for Netflix?

I have a desk top and and dsl in a different room than my tv. I want to get netflix on my tv. What do I need?

  • What are the things I will need to get netflix on my tv? Everything that I have read tells me that I need to connect to the internet. I plan on buying a blue ray player that is capable of streaming netflix, but what I am unsure of is my modem is in another room. I do not want to make monthly payments through something that netflix offers. I just want to pay for the monthly service for netflix. What do I need to purchase or do to make this work for me. Also my tv is an older model and not internet ready. Thank you!

  • Answer:

First, your modem needs to be connected to a router to have wifi in you home. Next, you need a wireless device that carries Netflix. Such as: PS3, Xbox 360, bluray player w/built-in wifi, or Roku player. If all you want is Netflix then you should go for the Roku player.
