What is wrong with my Comcast Universal DVR remote?

Comcast DVR question?

  • I was wondering... I never had a DVR from comcast. I have On Demand and wanted to know how it works to get a DVR. Does Comcast just send someone over to program the On Demand box we already have being the remote has a pause and play button... Or will they give us a totally different box? Also, how much will it cost? Can you please send me the direct link about the Comcast DVRs? I couldn't find any info about them on Comcast... I was probably looking in the wrong places on the site. If you answer what I'm looking for, you get 5 stars. =)

    You can access your On Demand from a regular digital cable box. A DVR box will be different from your digital box. If you wanted a DVR then they will come over with a box and prob another remote. DVR works fine if you are into recording shows when your not home. Keep in mind that a regular digital box is something like $4 a month and they will tell you that a DVR box is $7.99 a month but what they don't tell you is that they charge a monthly fee for DVR service which is an additional $4.99 a month which will cost you $13 a month for the service and the DVR box. So if you really need it and can afford it then get it.

I'm honestly not certain about part of your question. A DVR box has a hard drive in it but if you have On Demand, it seems that you might well have a box with a hard drive already. Here's what they say about DVRs. If your current box looks like one of these, then I guess you do have the right box now.
