Connecting to wireless internet on the Dell Latitude D600 laptop?
-
I did not get an answer in my previous question so i am reposting. - I have an old Dell Latitude D600 laptop and it was infected with a virus. So i re-installed windows xp pro from a cd. Everything worked great, and it is now running great. The problem is, is that the laptop is not picking up ANY wireless connections at all. When i try to go to the "connect to" menu of the start menu, there is no "wireless connection" link. Also, in the taskbar there is no connection icons showing that i am connected or not to an internet connection. So, im pretty sure a driver is missing or something, and i tried downloading a couple wireless drivers for the dell latitude d600 on my desktop, transferring it to my laptop with a flash driver, and installing them, but it did nothing. Does anyone know what to do or where i can find the right driver to install for this? Thanks in advance. * 1 day ago * - 2 days left to answer. Additional Details 1 day ago I tried Eddie Lee H.'s answer, and when the list of hardware came up, i did not see anything with "wireless network card" in the name. Although, there were about 10 things that looked to be that the driver was not installed for. Of these, 3 of them looked to me like they might be the wireless card. I saw: PCI Modem Network Controller Ethernet Controller And when i clicked finish and tried installing these drivers, it said "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software." I believe this is because it cannot connect to the internet. Also, i believe i already tried connecting the laptop directly to the modem and it still did not pick up any internet connection. So what should i do? And btw, i already tried going to dell's website (the link he gave me) and i installed a couple internet drivers for the d600 laptop. Thanks in advance

Answer:
ok, i can understand you not wanting to download a hole bunch of drivers on your pc hoping to get the one you need but the driver you need for your laptop is in fact at this link. at this link open "network (22)" inside you'll a list, only the ones that say driver, witch there are 10 of , you can (on the right of the"download&options" click "add to my downloads"scroll back up top & download if you got a flash drive or you can even burn to disk, put on one or other then go to add hardware & let your laptop search for the driver. gotta work!ps WE ARE GONNA WIN!http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=&SystemID=LAT_PNT_PM_D600
