How to open the NAT to my Xbox360?

How to fix my NAT setting for Xbox Live?

  • I've always had my Xbox360 connected directly to my modem with no issues. My computer has major issues so I just left it unconnected and the only thing in my house hold connected to the internet was my xbox... until my mom got her self a Nintendo Wii. She started complaining that I had netflix on my xbox, so why shouldn't she have it on her Wii? So, fine. A family member gives us a Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router for free so we can BOTH have Netflix. Problem is, now my NAT setting is apparently "strict or moderate." After NUMEROUS calls to both the router tech support, AND my ISP tech support, the problem is still unresolved. I have a windstream 4300 modem, and had none of these issues until I connected the router, so the problem has to be with the router, somewhere. I've already enabled upnp, set my xbox i.p. "outside the dmz," and set the following ports in the virtual server under my firewall settings: 53, both. 80, tcp. 88, udp. 3074, both. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO FIX THIS? Please, any help will be much appreciated. I can't play with friends on live, or talk in a party, or talk at all, really.

Look in your router settings for NAT type or something that starts with NAT and change it from secured to open. That should fix it. I think its under LAN settings but I'm not sure. Good luck and happy gaming.
