Suggestions for a cheap good quality headset?

Soundcard and headset help?

  • I've been trying to do some research myself, but I haven't had much luck finding the answers that I'm looking for. I'd like to get a new soundcard and a (semi)decent headset for PC gaming and music production. I need to be able to record 'what you hear' as well as the microphone from my headset so that I can record game-play from my games and do a live commentary whilst playing and also so that I can make my FL Studio tutorials with a better quality of sound (been using speakers and having my microphone on so quality sucks). Now on to my budget.. My girlfriend will be buying me these as a christmas gift so I cant afford astronomical prices for top end gear. At the moment I'm using a Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset which I am quite happy with the sound quality and microphone playback quality (albeit my headset is busted) as well as how comfortable they are over long periods of time. So perhaps £40~ for a headset and probably the same again (£40) for a soundcard to suit. I'm not bothered as to whether the headset uses USB or 3.5mm jack inputs, I just really need to be able to record as I stated above. If anybody has any decent suggestions as to what gear to get that fits my criteria then please help!!! Thanks in advance, Alex
