How does Camp Carnival Work?

How does boot camp work on macs?

  • I want to install boot camp on my mac but I am not quite sure how it works. Can all of the windows software run on my mac if I have boot camp (e.g games, Microsoft office etc.)? Also what would I need to install it?

  • Answer:

Boot Camp only works on Macs powered by an Intel CPU. You cannot use Boot Camp on older PowerPC Macs. Intel-powered Macs are basically Windows PCs with the ability to run OSX-- They share the same guts as a comparably-configured Windows PC, so yes Windows will run natively on an Intel Mac exactly as if it is running on a similarly-configured PC. When you run Bootcamp, it will partition your HDD so you can install WIndows into its own partition. You then install Windows on it using the Windows drivers that came included with Bootcamp. After you finish installing Windows, you have the option of booting into either OSX or Windows on power-up. Hope this helps.

bootcamp was made by apple for macs. So ofcourse it will work on a mac. Anyway your answer is yes, BUT as of right now boot camp can not install 64-bit OS of windows, only 32-bit. The only other software you need is a windows operating system cd sold at a local or online retailer.

OS X Leopard's BootCamp allows you to install a FULL version of XP or Vista on your INTEL Mac. Here's more Boot Camp info: Here's one of Apple's Step by Step guides:
