How can I get my scanner to work?

We just recently bought an all-in-one printer, HP Officejet 6500. [i can't find my users guide..so i found it online!] However, I can't get the scanner to work. It says "no scan options". I went to the troubleshooting section of the help manual online and I did everything it told me to do, which was uninstall and reinstall the printer bc it must have been installed incorrectly. All I did was stick the CD in and followed directions, but my scanner still is saying "no scan options"..anyone have any help they can offer? PLEASE!!! :)
Answer:

To scan an image with Vista...Go to Start...All Programs....Windows photo Gallery....select the File Tab and select Import from Camera or Scanner. It's a bit slow starting...but it will scan for you. Cheers
