How do I get my scanner to work with Windows 7?

  • I have an HP printer/scanner/copier. I recently got a laptop with Windows 7. I can print from my laptop by just plugging the printer in. However, I can't use the scanner without installing the software. Unfortunately when I tried to install the software my computer wouldn't allow it because the software was designed for Windows XP. Is there anything I can do to use my scanner w/my laptop? Thanks.

    Hi San, Before going on the driver hunt, check the Windows 7 Compatibility Center to see if your scanner is compatible with Windows 7. If it is compatible, you will be able to go to the printer's manufacturer website straight from the Compatibility Center to download the correct drivers. plug your scanner model no. and windows 7 into yahoo search or Google and get the drivers if they are not available buy a new scanner you can probably use vista drivers as well

can you go to the scanners website and find the software and drivers available for vista and download them. keep track of their names so u can locate n install
