What is best printer to refill ink?

• An ink cartridge prints, by my tests of a dozen printers since 1995, roughly 30 to 100 pages and cost from $40 to $50. Far below, 1000 pages they claim. Yellow runs out quickly, and off to buy another. With kids reports, research, letters, proposals, family photos, etc., this represents about 1 week of printing, if you freely print as you like. THE STANDARD set means about $50 x 12. I personally WILL NOT spend $40 a year since they sell you 10 cents of ink for $50. IT IS INSANE to go route and hand over wallet to a printer. I am fed up with Kodak and their overpriced cheap ink cartidges. My hp 94 cartidges were only filling once before needing to buy another. Epson had reset chip. These printer manufacturers are crooks. I need to know what printer cartridge will refill the easiest and most times. I do not care if color is slightly off or quality of print. I will buy a second printer for a few hundred bucks for the quality jobs before paying thousands each decade for ink!

  then your best option is either a colour Laser or colour LED printer. Yes the toners cost far more than ink carts but you do get (in many cases) several thousand prints per toner cart. The manufacturers are quite "clever" in there advertising of print rates, if you look carefully at the waffle it will most likely tell you some where that the print (ink) used per page is measured to around 5%, this is the average covering of ink used per page when translated as a solid block of colour (1/20th) when printing on an average A4 sheet. They then calculate the ink used to fill that 5% and the total amount of ink in the cart and divide the ink stored by the ink used to get the number of possible sheets per cart. This often works for Black ink but rarely for Colours.
