What printer is the most ink efficient?

What printer should I get that doesn't scam me into buying ink all the time?

  • I tried the Lexmark Pro 901 because of their low cost black ink....it turns out that the printer not only makes you buy color ink all the time, the print head will go bad often...which costs 50.00 to buy. So not only did I have to buy all three ink wells (which cost me 65.00) I had to buy a new printer head as well (50.00) They said that it will save you money....what a lie. Printer's should not be this fragile, or over exaggerate the ink levels unless they want to scam you out of your money which is exactly what they are doing. So far I have learned to stay away from anything Lexmark and anything Epson. Im thinking of HP but I do a lot of artwork and last time I used an HP the ink was SO runny.... So what I am looking for is a printer that does not stop me from using ink when it's low. Ink cartridges that is easy to find locally and is refillable. Things like the print head is reliable and does not break down or clog so easily. Ink that does not run at the slightest touch of moisture, and most of all really good print quality. Do these printers exist anymore?

I haven't been following the latest printer trends, but Jay The Docker's right! Pretty much any laser printer made by Canon is good stuff. My parents used to have loads of printer problems, then I bought them a Canon laser printer and now they stopped bothering me ever since! If you still need more information on which model exactly, tell me. If not you're usually fine with ANY laser printer from Canon.

Your best bet is to invest a little extra in a colour laser printer if you can afford to - the upfront cost may be higher, but they are much, much cheaper to run in the long term. Ink-jet manufacturers sell the printers cheap because they know they will make a fortune from selling new cartridges, whereas colour laser cartridges last much longer than ink-jets.
