Why should i get a new computer monitor when i get buy a new TV and use it as computer monitor?

I have an old TV and an old computer. I waa looking at new computers today and almost bought an HP tower with LCD monitor. The latter was on sale for $90. Then i noticed that a new HD tv was on sale for $140. Why not get the new 19inch TV and also use it as my computer monitor? The only thing i use the computer for is buying and selling stocks. I watch stock prices in real time. Your opinion please.

I myself have a 32 inch tv as my monitor as well as a tv in my office. An HDTV as a monitor your display will be sharp and clear. All new units have a pc selection on your source or input options. Just plug the computer into the tv using a VGA cable..

Depends on the usage you will make of it. TVs generally have lower refresh rate / latency / resolution than monitor. Knowing that, it's a personal taste's matter.
