Whats the best way to clean a laptop screen of smudges?

A copper wire brush and Comet. Or.......a slightly damp lint free cloth. Avoid paper towels because paper is slightly caustic and can scratch the screen surface.

NEVER use any thing except a damp cloth.....NO soap or additive of any kind.

I bought some little screen cleaning pads at Staples, but then I ran out and used Windex and it worked way better. But don't spray it directly on your computer, or it may get wet. I sprayed it on a soft dishcloth then wiped. Paper towels can leave scratches cuz they are made of wood. Happy Clean Screen!

Use a slightly damp, lint-free cloth...and don't press too hard.

To avoid wasting money on the store-bought 'laptop specific' cleaners, simply use a 'dollar-store' glass cleaner *without ammonia*. Then simply use a cotton or microfiber cloth. I use whatever is handy, such as a sock or a shirt. Be sure to spray a *light* mist on the screen, insuring no water drips into the workings of your laptop. If you are afraid of getting water inside your laptop, simply spray the rag first until it is wet, (not damp, as you may scratch your screen if you wipe it with any dry spots), then let it dry on its own. For dust, simply swish the rag across the screen as though your were slapping some person across the face with a glove looking for a duel.

be careful cause that baby cost you and buy the too expensive cleaning cloths from an office supply store.
