Why does my computer have the wrong time?

So why does Windows 7 keep changing the time on my computer?

  • The time here is now 7:30 on the east coast but every 3 or 4 days (sometimes once a week) the time automatically changes to 3 hours before making it seem as if I lived on the west coast of the states. I go and change the time to the correct time but in a few days it changes back automatically to 3 hours before the actual time. I can change the time right now but when I go to my email and I get an email from someone it shows the time the email was sent was 3 hours before. Just earlier I got a facebook message from a guy who messaged me and my phone rings each time I get a facebook message. I went on my computer and it said the time the message was sent was like 3 hours ago even though the guy had just sent me the message. I can change the time to the right time now but chances are if you sent me a facebook message or an email the time on that email will read 3 hours before even though my computer currently has the correct time. Ever since I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 my computer goes faster but the time is all messed up on all sites I go to and on my computer itself the time changes to 3 hours before every few days. How can I fix this problem?

  • Answer:

It's automatically updating the time to the saved location you have. Go to Date and Time settings and change the time zone to the correct location.
