How to dual screen with dell dimension 4700?

Dell Dimension 4700 and CPUs?

  • I have a Dell Dimension. It's not one a I bought from a store, but rather from a friend who recently upgraded. The video card and ram's great (2GB DDR2), but the processor is the standard single core 3.20 GHz that comes with it. Now, from what I know of it, it's a LGA775 socket and it's BUS is 800 MHz. I believe, from what I've read, that it can only take a Intel Pentium 4 processor. So, two questions, one is this true? Two: what would you recommend as an upgrade for an avid gamer? I'm thinking I should just save and buy a new system, but that could be a while. Also, a third optional question: has anyone here owned a Dell Dimension 4700?

  • Answer:

I currently own a dimension 3000, and and several vostros (dell also). The hardware is often times proprietary, making it difficult, sometimes impossible even to replace. I would recommend, if the current specs aren't sufficient for u, sell it as soon as u can, as it's still, as of today, a decent family-type computer, and get what u can for it, maybe $300 and then use that money to purchase something newer, with dedicated graphic processing power, and a larger power supply. Good luck.
