Problem Re-Installing Windows?

Problem with speakers after reinstalling windows xp?

  • I just reinstalled windows xp on my computer and I noticed that whenever I try to play a game or watch a video I can't get sound. Do I have to reinstal the wardware with a cd or what? I checked control panel - sound and audio devices - volume, and it says No Audio Device. 10 pts for person who solves my problem.

  • Answer:

As previous people have said, you need to reinstall the audio drivers. If the audio on your computer came with a CD, use that. If it's onboard audio, use the motherboard driver CD and install the audio drivers from there. If there are updated drivers on the net that you know work, download them and install from there. If none of these work, get back to us and we can move into troubleshooting stage two...

You need to download and install your computer's sound card driver.

Drivers would fix the problem....Go out to the manufacturer of your sound card or Motherboard, if onboard sound and download, and install the drivers.

Disable your speakers in Device Manager then restart you pc. XP will recognize the speakers as new hardware and install them. ^j^
