How can i get rid of the static noise in my cd player?

Subaru Forester CD player working, but no sound?

• Recently bought a used 2000 Subaru Forester. The radio works fine, CDs play and the display works, but there is no sound from the CD - just a static-type noise with the faint sound of the radio in the background. Can anyone offer advice on how to get diagnose the problem, or instructions on how to take the CD player out to have a look/repair/replace?

  Hi Most radios these days a sprung out, on either side of the front fascia are two holes on each side a u shaped clip goes in and the radio pops out. by the way i would suspect you will need a new unit anyway as the cd player has had it's day. so take to a specialist and ask about having a new one he will also remove the old unit free of charge.
