How to not allow access if not logged in?

Can't access my libraries Wifi from my house. Would a N adapter upgrade allow me to reach it?

  • I use my dad's laptop to try to access my local library's free wifi network (wireless 802.11 N). But his laptop only supports 802.11 G connections. I know I can access the network if I was about 3 blocks closer to it cause I tried it already. But I want to be able to access the library network from my house, and I'm 3 blocks to far away to allow it to connect to my current laptop. So I was wondering if I buy a wireless 802.11 N adapter and use it to try to connect from my house, that I would be able to connect to the library's network from my house? I know wireless N routers are supposed to transmit further, but will a wireless N adapter allow me to connect to a 802.11 N network that is a little to far away for me to connect to now with my current wireless G card?

  • Answer:

The only way is to try it, There are distance and interference limitations with wifi. At the limits of acceptable signal, small changes to position movements, might make a difference.
