How to avoid multiple print in screen?

Print Screen key does not take screen shot - Windows XP?

  • I'm not sure why the "Print Screen" key does not take a snapshot of the screen on my computer? I think I used it maybe a year ago (not positive) but the button does nothing now. Neither "Print Screen" or "Alt+Print Screen" work. I'm using Windows XP. Have tried with Firefox and Netscape Browsers. Anyone know why this might be?

  • Answer:

That's weird. I would say try a different keyboard. Maybe the key is just dirty or otherwise incapacitated.

Printscreen captures to the clipboard open paint and paste the image in there.

You may have to also hit the Function key (Fn) and it's usually a different color (blue) so it should stand out. Try the FN + Prnt Scrn or FN + Alt + Prnt Scrn. Hopefully that works for you.

If you want to "print screen", THEN JUST HOLD DOWN THE CNTRL KEY,oops caps on, and click your mouse, the whole screen will go blue, then go up to FILE in your top left and click on print, or Print Preview, First ,just to see what you will be printing...

"Print Screen" only grabs a snapshot of your present screen. After that you need to bring up Wordpad, right-click and paste it.
