How do I get my computer to show hidden files?

this is just because of virus. just update your antivirus(AVG preffered) and scan system. restore the deleted files. this is because the virus enters registry settings and disables the values of attributes

This should do: Start->Settings->Control Panel->Folder Options The window opens and there's a tab called View. There you will find the option to display hidden files. save and close.

open my documents, click tools>folder options click the view tab scroll down, and check the "hidden files" circle

Inside the Folder Option -> View -> Hidden files and folders -> Show hidden files and folders

When the folder is opte go to Tools> Folder Options> View Tab, and look for the "Show Hidden foders anf iles" box and check it. Hope that helps

If you cannot find folder options, it can also be found in the control panel (do yourself a favour and switch to the classic view of the control panel if you haven't done so already). Perhaps you have the menu bar turned off. I can't remember if this is possible in Windows XP. If so, press the ALT key in an open window and this will display the menu bar. There you can find tools > folder options.
