How can I check my Internet Explorer browser?

Uninstalling Internet Explorer 7 - SERIOUS HELP NEEDED!!!?

  • Right. I have internet explorer on windows vista, an all has been fine except until yesterday. About every minute if I'm on the internet, it will pop up porno pages or general crap from other websites. Ar first I thought that I must have virus, so I run a scan using norton internet security. The results came back that there was nothin bad on my computer. I thought I'd check again using windows defener, and the same happened - no threats. I then made sure that my pop-up blocker was working on my internet explorer, and it is. Basically, I'm not sure what to do, but I came up with the idea of uninstalling internet explorer 7,and re-installing it. Hopefully thismight make a difference. I've looked on how to uninstall internet explorer 7, but have only seen how to do so on windows xp. As said before I'm using windows vista. Can anybody tell me how to do this? I do not wish to change to another internet browser, as I have found that internet explorer is my favourite - please help!!!

    Go to Add or Remove Programs,select Add/Remove Windows Components and then deselect Internet Explorer. Wizard will remove Internet Explorer from your computer. I recommend you Firefox with NoSctipt(Block all JavaScript files)& Adblock Plus(Block all ads). Firefox is much safer than IE

if ie7 is the original browser then it cant be removed, it sounds like you have adware and spyware, download a couple of good anti spyware programs , update them and scan with them. deleting ie7 will make no difference anyway because your pc will still be infected, i use spybot search and destry, and adaware 2008 on my pc

I suspect you have some malware that is triggering the pop-ups. As it's just a nuisance thing NIS probably won't catch it. Have a check with Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, or possibly asquared. They all are free or have free versions and catch things Norton ignores

you don't need to uninstall internet explorer, what you NEED to do is disable the popups. There should be like an options tab or something that allows you to disable popups....actually click on "Tools" then "Popup blocker". good luck

Before you do that, download other anti-spyware software. Adaware is particularly good. Run that and see if it helps. And get rid of any 'search toolbars' and all the other rubbish that can be added on to IE.

You maybe could install IE6, then uninstall IE7, then Re-Install IE7 clean. You should always make a backup of system state and everything on an External Medium, Tape, Zip, Floppy, CD-r, DvD-r.

install Internet Security.http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Panda-Platinum-Internet-Security.shtml but uninstall it as soon as its got rid of the ad-ware because on-line Internet securities slows your computer

Why bother? Download Firefox or Opera, you will not get any of this nonsense with them. IE is embedded very deeply into Windows, uninstalling it will wreck your system. Download another and delete IE from your desktop.

go to the control panel find programs on click uninstall a program then look for the internet explorerand click uninstall/repair button then follow the instructions
