How effective is NOSCRIPT with firefox 3?

Why do people still use Internet Explorer when Firefox is so much better and safer?

  • Firefox is gaining market share very quickly, but it's surprising how many people still cling on to IE. Fox has countless powerful and effective plug-ins, such as the famous NoScript and FlashBlock which allow precise surgical control over security settings. I'm already on Firefox 3 under Linux (PCLinuxOS) - the bulletproof combination.

I Foxy Firefox lady! Like 50% of computer people in my country Germany I have Foxy surfing, and no Active-X Microsoft devil-software to kill my computer. Foxy is like big bodybuild-man on club doorway - he stop bad people coming in. Int. Explore is wimpy man on door - he let in bad people to your computer lol... Foxy have clever accessory as Dominic say like Noscript and lots others, update big often. People not know about Foxy - I tell all my friends, they now change! Int. Explore - use if want to. But I love Foxy ;)

Because some people are technologically retarded, and takes forever for them to catch on .

People are slow to try new things even if they are better, it took me a while to switch to Firefox, but now that I know about all the extensions I'm simply in love. A lot of people are technologically retarded, I don't mean that word in a bad way, but yes they do proceed slowly and aren't up to par with whats new and improved.

i'm still trying to figure that out. I have had nothing but problems with IE. I haven't used IE in like 5 years. I used netscape, which is still ok... then I moved to Firefox. I can't believe all the question people post about IE and how do I fix this or do that.... my response... use Firefox.... Some people are just afraid of the unknown... even if it's way better.... too bad for them....

I guess I will have to be the one to defend IE, like someone stated earlier...if you dont go to questionable sites and download stupid things you will be fine. Even so, IE7 is much more secure than 6 and I think is the best browser around. Dont get me wrong, Firefox is great...but I would not say the greatest. Most ppl that feel the need to complain about IE are the ones that are so "anti Microsoft" but still use Windows. Not saying any of you are that way but its just hypocritically funny. But another thing to keep in mind, why is it that IE was targeted so much? IE is the dominant browser so those making ad/spy ware of course are going to use what the majority market is using. Does ad/spy ware exist for Firefox and is it prone to get attacked as well? You bet it does and will get attacked, especially now that the popularity is gaining. Soon Firefox will be in the same boat as IE and then what...everyone going to cling to Safari for windows? I am not afraid to say I am a proud IE user and will stick with it no matter what. I know I sure wont get best answer so I will quit rambling on. To each their own, no one should try and cram something down someone like what browser to use and try to debate which is better. If you noticed, I said nice things about Firefox...it is a good browswer but in my humble opininon, IE is better and faster...on my system. I will use what works best on my system. My former work pc, I used Firefox because work would not allow IE7 and the tabs were very beneficial.

Mozilla Firefox maybe better and safer than Internet Explorer. However, since IE comes with the Microsoft operating system user tends to use what is installed in their computer. Personally, my niece who is studying Computer Science is the one that recommended that I shift to Firefox. I tried Firefox for a while but went back to Internet Explorer. Happy Holidays !

Youngdominic, you appear to be a very experienced user. Although I have been using Firefox for two or three years because of it's tabbed browsing and at the recommendation of a friend. I have used both browsers and currently using Vista which I'm not satisfied with. For some reason I cannot get flash player to work in Firefox and can't get video to play unless its Real Player or MS one with Firefox. Also each time a new revision comes, all my prior add on's and search engines are stripped out. I mya not be experience in maximizing all the features of Firefox and do not recognize all it's capabilities. I put in too many hours at work maybe. But, I am considering returning my computer and getting the same system with Linux, but do not know what one to use or if I can. I do know that both Vista and Firefox are memory hogs. Frankly, what they heck does Firefox do with all that memory. In Vista, if you make Firefox your primary browser, many get problems with IE. Not a big deal if Firefox suites your needs, bit fo the rest of my friends and family who prefer IE or the Yahoo tool bar, I unfortunately haven't the heart to blow it away. I am thinking very much in moving towards Linux, but don't have friends or know anyone who took the plunge like you. I prefer it's looks over Vista and the price is right with all the drivers. at the same time, I would like the flexility of using MS office until open office can beef up it's word and excel and power point features. I work with those heavy. If there's a way I can use those with Linux (perhaps with wine), I would make the move. Interesting tidbit. I hear IE6 works better on Linux than in Windows. Not sure why IE7 crashes on people. I hope that helps.

I think it's because website like this: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/SupportCD/FirefoxMyths.html I think IE 7 and Firefox is both good because I use both of them. And they work perfectly good. But I don't like the old version of IE. So I think they're both fine.
