What is the best tool for painting in Photoshop?

Is there a "squiggly line tool" in paint, for photoshop?

• ok, you know the tool in paint (the program that comes on most every computer with windows). that looks like an S in the tool bar. (no idea what its actually called. i call it the squiggly line tool =P) and you can place it on one point and drag to another, and then move it in 2 points within the line to sculpt the line how you like. well, my question is. is that tool, or one similar, in photoshop? im not very experienced in photoshop so i dont know. i find that tool the most handy in paint but you dont really have the freedom of layers in paint.

  I think you can use the pen tool in photoshop to do the stuff the squiggly (curve) tool does. The pen tool can be found on your tools pallette, it looks like the tip of a fountain pen but you can use the letter "P" from your keyboard to access it too. i hope this helps, http://prodigalconcepts.com/
