Which is better: ATT U-Verse or Cable?

If I have at&t uverse, which is cable tv/internet-no land line?

  • If I have AT&T Uverse, but not a land line, is it possible to fax through the main box? I want to be able to fax legal size documents and I don' t have a scanner that can scan legal docs, so I either pay for a legal size scanner, or a phone land line. Is there a way to hook up a fax machine to the main unit to scan? Without having a voice or land line? Cable and tv work through the phone lines.

  • Answer:

Unless you're in an area where U-Verse connects to the home via fiberoptic cable, you need a conventional phone line to get the service. Other than that, the fax machines that I'm aware of do work as usual via U-Verse digital phone. You simply connect it to any phone jack in your home or office, as usual.

no, fax lines run through the phone line so you need to have phone service

if you do not have a phone line, then you are not going to be able to send faxes... if you have phone service with uverse then you could use your fax machine to send faxes... depending on the model fax machine it might also have a scanner function - if it does you can use that as your scanner, and sign up for an efax company to send faxes...

Fax is dinosaur technology. Get with the times! Scan/convert your documents to PDF and attach them to emails.

I am right

Fax wont work on Uverse phone system. You need to have a landline.
