How to get directv channels on my sansui?

The tv I had got stolen and now that I bought a 19 inch sansui I cannot pick up any channels whatsoever even though i purchased an hdmi cable which fits the box and the back of the tv perfectly. any help?

it should work i have one i bought the other day go to the right input there is for i believe TV Cable Video HDMI or something like that go to the right one and it wil come one i have Dish and its the same way for mine

use a triple RCA cable...yellow red white. push SOURCE button on tv remote. some tvs and receivers have HDMI jack ,not its board.
