Is higher contrast ratio always better with LCD tv's?

Witch contrast ratio of a LCD TV is better 10,000:1 or 15,000:1 ?

Assuming both TVs have the same max. brightness (say 450 nits), then the one with 15,000:1 will have better blacks than the other. However, do make sure you see the TVs side by side - viewing angle is VERY important (and don't trust the specs) and color reproduction even more important.

A Higher contrast ratio is always better. You'll get a sharper picture. Now...if the difference between the two is like $1000, you probably wont notice the difference unless you're a video/audiophile. Get the cheaper one :)
