TV Sound problem - set-top box or TV?
-
I have my TV connected to a set-top box, which has an antenna plugged into it. Most of the time it works fine but every so often the sound will just cut out for no reason. Turning the TV off and back on fixes it, as does turning the set-top box off and back on. I replaced the antenna, thinking it might be a reception issue but it didn't change anything. So does anyone know where the problem might be coming from or how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Answer:
Unless your set top box has a volume control it can't be the problem. Try hitting the "TV" mute button on and off and see if the sound returns. If so it's your TV. A vibration test (hitting the side of the TV" could also tell you if there are bad connections inside it.
