Live stream on camcorders HDMI?

DVI to HDMI to stream tv from computer to tv.?

I have a dvi to hdmi lead which is running from my computer to my tv. I am trying to get it to play live tv from my computer to the tv but its not working. I thought that as long as I had it on the hdmi channel then it would simply play what I see on my computer monitor, why doesn't it??
Answer:

Could be a variety of reasons a) Your PC's DVI is actually an analog DVI (not digital) b) You use a resolution not supported by your TV c) Bad cable Try to reboot the PC with the cable connected. If you don't see the BIOS screen , then something is wrong on the PC side. If you do see it and dissapears, change the resolution.
