How to solve a random yellow-printing problem?

How to solve this problem with my digital slr camera?

  • My prof. told me to change my camera setting from jpeg to raw format. Before I was able to open my pictures that I took in my camera with now problems, but now I can't view them at all after I changed the setting on my camera. My prof. doesn't know what the problem is and I don't know how to solve it except that if it doesn't work maybe I will just change it back to jpeg and change it into raw format on Photoshop to solve my problem in an easy way. But if you know how to solve the problem, please let me know. This is my problem when I try to open my images in Photoshop it says: "Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information". How do I solve this problem? Appreciate some help and thanks.

  • Answer:

I think the RAW format viewers for Photoshop are in plugins. It's possible you don't have the right plugin installed. Looks like the link below will get you what you need. You cannot convert Jpeg to RAW. Raw files are the unformatted information taken directly by the camera. A jpegis what you get once the raw file is processed and compressed. It is impossible to go back the other way.

You mean you can preview the pictures from the camera but they don't show up in the computer? The camera came with a CD. Install the software in that CD to your computer. There should be a utility in there to view RAW files and convert them to JPEG. You don't convert to RAW. If you don't have the CD, ask the teacher.

First you can't change any jpg photo into raw format with any software. That is done in the camera, no where else. The reason you can't view them is you don't have the appropriate viewer. You've got to have a program that can display raw photos. Google and you'll find plenty of software out there.
