1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gs engine belt noise?

Okay, I got a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gs. Whenever my car is warmed up, i hear a belt in my engine that can get really loud and annoying... I'm almost positive that it is a belt making that noise. How do i fix it? Some guy said if i use belt dressing it can make the sound worse... I just don't know what belt it is...

If it's the timing belt you should replace it asap. If it fail the engine is pretty much done. The valve hit the pistons and the motors a goner. First, check the condition of all belts for cracks and worn edges. If the belts were recently replaced then try spraying them with belt dressing and that should take care of the noise(don't over do it). You may have to repeat the spaying a few times when noise comes back and eventually the noise will be gone for good. The car is 10 yrs old and if belts have never been replaced, it's time to replace them. No belt dressing is gonna help getting rid of the noise if the belts are old and worn out..

Yo I have a 95 eclipse and when ever i start it up it makes a load annoying screeching noise coming from the belts. (Is that what you have)??? Im not sure what it is I just asked a question on Yahoo Answers about the same thing I think......
