Overheating 1996 Honda Accord?

Overheating issue on '87 honda accord, can someone help me?

  • Okay, basically my car is overheating. I know it's not the coolant or radiator. I do know that the fans are not kicking on. They will kick on once the car is hot enough, but then they shut off causing the overheating issue. I have not checked the thermo-sensor for the fans, but I will. I just need a ballpark answer, as I know this car like the back of my hand. I am changing the coolant and possibly the radiator soon, but the fans not coming on is what is bothering me, I have checked the fuse, but that's not the problem if they come on once... I am about to just swap out the old A20 and put in a B18 or something that has more available parts. I just would like to know what is wrong with the overheating. Thanks.

  • Answer:

I can help you. Hondas suck, always buy American cars. That is all.

Other answers

feel the upper radiator hose after the car has run for a bit. is it hot? if not then change the thermostat (very easy). if not that could be a simple sensor valve.
