How do you change the light on a Dodge Neon trunk?

My oil light is on on my 2003 Dodge Neon?

  • I just got my oil changed like 4 hours or so and when I was driving for like 30 minutes my oil light came on. I was wondering if this is normal, I haven't seen any oil leaks, and I figured it was my car getting used to the oil change. I just want to make sure its not serious. My 2003 Dodge Neon has 100,000 miles on it I checked the oil level and its not at maximum but not below minimum and my car doesn't leak and my light was coming on yesterday which is why I did the oil change because it needed it. But now the oil light is coming on as frequently and the car is running fine.

  • Answer:

they didn't finish filling it up or they didn't tighten the oil filter or the plug back up in it ,you need to call them and let them know of this and have the car towed to them and let them take care of it, don't drive it though you will do damage to the engine, basically they screwed up and will have to repair what ever damage is done to it,good luck with it.

You again? The more I read this question, the more it sounds like you probably went WAY overdue on your oil change. A Neon with 100k miles and infrequent oil changes will almost certainly have engine damage. When you finally put in clean oil, it probably removed a lot of the sludge/buildup in the engine that was actually serving to keep the pressure up. Now you're paying the piper. Always care for your cars and get the oil changed on schedule.

not good have it checked

If the oil is full it probably isn;t anything they did. Neons, as well as other dodges, have oil press sensros that fail and can make the oil light come on, or flicker. Have it towed to a dodge dealer, and have them check oil press. If it is ok, then you just need the sensor. There is also a tsb out to install a vent hose in the unused hole in the connector for the sensor, the dodge dealer will know about it. Make sure that is done as well. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to remove the oil pan and have the sceen on the oil pickup cleaned. Good luck!
