How do you change the light on a Dodge Neon trunk?

My oil light is on on my 2003 Dodge Neon?

  • I just got my oil changed like 4 hours or so and when I was driving for like 30 minutes my oil light came on. I was wondering if this is normal, I haven't seen any oil leaks, and I figured it was my car getting used to the oil change. I just want to make sure its not serious. My 2003 Dodge Neon has 100,000 miles on it

    Check the oil ASAP. Also make sure the oil filter is secured. If both of those are OK and no leaks, your oil pump might be bad. There are a couple of more serious potential causes. Don't drive the car without fixing the issue, or you could damage the engine. As a last resort have it towed to a mechanic.

no a car doesn't have to get used to an oil change, they more than likely knocked the wire loose on the sending unit and that will cause the light to come on,that or they didn't finish filing it up,or the sending unit is going out,if it wasn't doing this before the oil change take it back to them and have them put it back on a lift and see if any wires got knocked loose,you could just have a sending unit that decided to go out but kind of strange it did it after the oil change,make sure its full of oil though before you drive it again,they are liable for your car if it gets damaged because of this so let them know that you are aware of this,good luck

check your oil level right away before driving any more if you don't know how chances are some one you know around you will know how. the oil light is only suppose to come on when the oil is very low and if the oil level is fine and your car runs ok it is most likely a bad sensor what could cost a arm and a leg to fix but it wont hurt your car if you don't fix it

always check your oil level after an oil change depending on who did it depends if they put the full amount of quarts in some people get side tracked and dont fill it up..
