Help with dodge neon brakes?

97 dodge neon brake problem , brakes stay on...?

  • I have a 1997 dodge neon highline sohc , it seems like the front brakes are always on , i took the wheel off and i cant turn the rotors at all , if i am rolling slow and put it in nuetral the car will stop , i pushed the piston it and the rotors turn but when i press the brake they just lock up.. help ???

  • Answer:

you,ll probably have to either replace the master cylinder or the calipers or find out whats causing the pressure to stay on them all the time, sticking calipers will cause that too happen most of the time, they can feel good but be bad enough to cause the brakes to stick like that, good luck.

the callipers are bad, replace with new callipers rooter's and pads and bleed the system, and while you are there check the bearing's just to make sure they are good.hope this helps,

Either 1.) your brake pedal is sticking - try pulling up on your brake pedal. if the brakes release, then find out where the pedal is binding. 2.) Your master cylinder is bad.
