Dodge Neon Car cuts out when I turn left?

2000 Plymouth/dodge neon front right turn signal doesnt work all others work.?

  • its a 2000 Plymouth neon(same as a dodge neon) all turn signals work but one , i bought this car, and the passenger side signals didnt work at all, the back light/signal bulb was burnt out, i replaced it, and it works fine, but the front passenger bulb isnt burnt out, and still doesnt work, the marker light works, but when switched with the passenger side, the bulb works fine. i checked the fuses, etc. i was wondering if it could be the relay switch, or the turn signal switch on the column, i checked the turn signal wire, its showing as a ground, i used a tester, hooked it to the positive battery, lights green, hooked it to the negitive, shows nothing.the marker light wire is the only positive, when i hooked up the working turn signals wire to the nonworking signals turn signal wire, it just grounded, and then the tester became the flashing bulb. i looked in the column, and the turn signal switch, when i unplugged it, the plastic plug, looks burned/melted on a couple connectors(the surrounding plastic) but none of these include the the right turn signal wire, i tested the wire, right out of the turn signal plug, and connected the tester to the body(ground) and still nothing. does anyone know what the cause of this would be, and how to fix this? thanks!

  • Answer:

Based on your description of the turn signal switch, you may have a problem with the switch and possibly the burnt wiring to the switch.
