What is the grinding noise?

BMW pulls to left HARD and makes horrible grinding noise after hitting debris on road (What is it?)?

  • So as i was driving today (BMW 99 323i) i hit a piece of debris on the highway, on the left side. Now my car makes a HORRIBLE grinding noise and pulls to the left EXTREMELY hard when i use my brakes (grinding noise and pulling when braking). Any idea what this might be? Estimated cost to repair? I dont know too much about cars, but from what ive heard it sounds like the brake pads, or the calipers. They are about 50$ each.

Maybe there's some roadkill caught up down there.

GATORADE

Might have some of that junk in your brakes. Its happened before. Take the wheel off and look. Remove as needed.

its most likely the brake pad... maybe it came off or was moved.... i know the kind of noise you're talking about. but it could also be other things.. calipers, brake shoes, brake lines , even rotor... better check it out at a local mechanic... no need to go to BMW for that, its a ripoff
