Can I add 2 more speakers to cd player?

Does Business CD player in BMW 328 (1999) has RCA output for amp??

  • HEllo, I am going to add another mono amp for a sub. My amp (Kicker ZX750) requires RCA output from the head unit (Low Level), or speaker wire (high level) input. I know that my car has a stock amp in the trunk. My question is, does my cd player has RCA connection for the amp, and if it does, are they NOT occupied by the stock amp already? Also, if they are not available, from where should I get the speaker wire (high level) input. Can I get it from the stock amp (just before the wires get into it), or ill have to get it from the cd player or door speakers? This is my first electrical project ... please help..........

  • Answer:

There are and has never been any RCA lines from any BMW sound system as far as I know. Your only choice is to tap it from the amp. The amp is located behind the carpet trim in the trunk, driver's side. Here's where you need to tap the wires. http://www.bavauto.com/Assets/inst_pages/INS336.pdf Since the radio doesn't provide a remote on power line, you'll need to find a way to turn your amp on. Simplest way is to get an ACC power line to it... so it will turn on when you turn the key. The Basslink (in the instructions) uses a sensor circuit to auto time-out its power.
