Keep two cars ('08 Porsche & '91 Mercedes) or get one multi-tasker super sedan?

Keep two cars ('08 Porsche 911 & '91 Mercedes 300E) or one multi-tasker super sedan like BMW 750? My older car from 91 Mercedes 300E is not as reliable as the newer cars. I started thinking because I started golf recently after I got a '08 Porsche 911. Golf bags don't fit into a Porsche with a passenger. So I started thinking if I should continue to drive to golf courses my old & not so reliable Mercedes or to just get rid of the 91 Mercedes 300E and 08 Porsche 911 for just one car like the Mercedes S-class or a BMW 750. I'm still in my 30's, and I don't want to look like I took out my father's S-class or 750 if I choose to get rid of my college-day Mercedes 300E and the 08 Porsche 911. What would you do? Keep two cars or just get one comfortable sports sedan? Oh, one reason I got a sports car (had a Corvette and 01 Porsche 911) was because I got bored with the overly luxurious ride in my 91 Mercedes for

Answer:
Why don't you sell your Porsche Carrera 911 and then buy a 08 BMW 5 series. It's a very roomy and luxurious sedan, you'll fit your golf bags in. If you want more of a sporty car get the 2008 BMW M5. You can get the M5 for about $85k, which isn't too far off from your 2008 911. If you want an even sportier ride sell your Porsche 911 and get a 2008 BMW M3. The M3 coupe looks super sporty, drives like a really well built sports car, and will probably still hold your golf bags in the trunk. Not to mention you can get one for around $60k. I think if you buy the M3 you'll like it more than your Porsche. Good thing about the M3, they have a sedan version of it to. So for your situation, i'd probably get a M3 sedan or M5. BMW 7's and Mercedes S class are older person cars. If your 30, a BMW 5 series or 3 series (doesn't have to be the M) would be perfect. I would keep the 300E, drive it to school (i don't recommend taking a new BMW to college) and then maybe just get rid of it if a day comes that it just wont run anymore. If you got the money though, why not go for an M3 or M5....drive one and see how much you like it first though.

I say keep the 911. 2 sets of clubs will fit in the back. I've seen it. If you want a sedan that will do it all get a 3 series. You are too young for a barge.

Never sell the 911. God has one so should you. Dump the 300 they are crap.... If it already has been taking your money it will and will far into the future. Ever see a 911 with a roof rack? Look into it.. I'm a person who expects to buy a car where all I have to do is do the usual upkeep to and NOT shell out money for design flaws and dead poorly built parts. All the cars you mentioned I would not touch with my 10 foot pole. I'm not into impressing my friends and clients. I would buy a Hyundai if it had good parts. I think if I was to replace a car today I would have to go with a Lexus..

I would look at a BMW 5 series or Audi A6..the A6 has a HUGE trunk so great for golf. Both drive pretty well and have a good blend of sport and luxury. I wouldn't keep your two cars. The 911 is great, but very impractical, and old Benzes are extremely unreliable. I would look at an Audi A6 3.2 or 4.2 (both with Quattro AWD) or a BMW 528i/xi or 535i/xi. Even if you don't need AWD where you live, get Quattro because the car will definitely handle better. If you don't need AWD, don't get the BMW in xi trim, just get an i model. But overall, yeah, I'd trade in those two cars. A 5 series is pretty sporty so if you want a better blend of luxury look at an A6...the 5 series are a little too firm for me. Also, if you look at an A6, make sure you DONT drive one with the MultiTronic transmission...its a CVT and it doesnt drive good at all. Drive one with a triptronic transmission. and quattro! quattro helps the handling a ton! Hope this helped! Good luck! Also, if you can afford it, a BMW M5 might be worth looking into. Don't get an M3...the trunk is not that big. And 7 series and S Classes are sort of old peoples cars.
