WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THE BMW 1 SERIES HATCHBACK IS FUGLY?

I just think all hatchbacks are ugly except for the 89-91 Crx's.

Because it is. And your statement about comparing it to a Golf or Civic proves that it is fugly. A BMW should NEVER be compared to such inferior cars like a Civic of Golf! They are classes apart. I think this is why most Bimmer owners don't like the new 1 series. It kind of says, Hey I want to be cool and own a BMW but I just cant afford real one.

Don't believe all the BMW hype. They break down with amazing regularity, just like any other car, including Mercs. Everyone has an opinion, you either like it or you don't. What does it matter what anyone else thinks.
