How to cope with extreme heat?

Hello I figured you would be able to help me the most, since you live in a place so hot. I am looking for curtains that will reflect the heat out from the house. The temperature in the summer gets extremely hot indeed where I live, so I need to keep the house cool. Any ideas on how to find curtains or blinds; or what things that I will need to reflect the heat. CREED

White reflects the heat, and black or dark colours absorb the heat. I'm not sure you want curtains or blinds that reflect the heat. Once you start thinking you'll realize that you are reflecting the heat off the curtains/blinds and where does the heat go? Assuming the curtains/blinds are on the inside of your window, the answer is the heat gets reflected back to the inside of the window and stays in the house. Instead of something that reflects heat, just put of heavy curtains/blinds and keep them closed.
