Cost of living in Dar es Salaam?

Job offer in Dar es Salaam,Tanzania with $1500 per month &local allowance off SH500000 is it enough ?

  depends on your expectations, $1500 plus Sh500000 comes to about $1,800 per month, you say housing etc will be provided so I am assuming that also included power etc, but not food. The wage you describe should allow you a reasonable living standard but it's not huge for a couple. providing you do not lead extravagant life styles you should be quite comfortable, will the housing include staff? staff are the norm in most households and they do require paying, you will find having local staff a real benefit as they can do the shopping etc and get you the best deals, the stigma on staff is not the same as in Europe and the US and provides much needed work in the communities.
