My boyfriend is locked up in San Mateo County Jail?

He is in there because he had some crack on him.. I have no idea why he had that on him but this happened Saturday night... the same night he left me a message on my phone at 12am. he said he will get out soon and he will call me back. but i thought you have to go to court before they tell you how long you'll be locked up for? he said I can write to him if i want to. but i really don't know how... don't i have to have his unit number or something?? btw is San Mateo County Jail in San Mateo or Redwood City? because I googled it and found two addresses....... also is is okay for me to call the prison and ask them if there is a way to contact him?? please help me! ten points..!

By any means, your boyfriend is now a convicted felon, so he is going to be in jail until be makes bail for a court hearing. Also, San Mateo County Jail is on the border of San Mateo and Redwood City, it is a jail for both cities. And yes, you can call the prison and demand to contact him, as well as demand a speedy trail.

When someone is in jail, they can post bail. You can definitely call or go to the court house/jail and ask for more info.
