What is a good low key place to live in the Florida Keys?
-
My wife and 2 year old son are thinking of moving and trying a new place out for year or two. We are thinking of the keys b/c we want to stay in the U.S. We want somewhere fun and tropical, but not a huge party scene. Any suggestions?

Several of the lower keys are good. Stay away from Key West if possible. Islamorada and Marathon as well as Big Pine Key are good choices. All of the amenities are available including the Mariners Hospital for emergencies. Prices are a little higher than the mainland but, everything has to be shipped in.Buy a small runabout boat if possible you'll enjoy your stay more.

You might also try Florida City or Key Largo. They are mainland but they are both very nice, and are more small-town than you might think.
