Las Vegas, expired but renewed license/id?

  • Hello, here is my dilemma: my 23rd birthday was in march and my license that I also use as my I'd at clubs expired that day too. I don't know what's going on with the california ids but I renewed mine in february and still haven't received it. I could not even go out for my birthday weekend because it was expired. Now, during spring break, I planned a trip to las vegas and I was sure my license would have arrived already. It hasn't :( I'm supposed to leave in a couple days but don't wanna go if I won't be able to go to the clubs and gamble. My actual holdable I'd is expired but its renewed already, I have the interim paper that says its renewed and it works as my temporary license. It is just a paper with no picture so its not really an I'd. Will I still be allowed to go into the clubs in vegas? Please help?!! And I really want to go to xs nightclub to be specific... Thank you

    I had this problem once with CA DMV. I went into the local DMV and found it it was glich in the system, they retook photo etc and I got my license in less than a week. Why wait so long before contacting DMV? Hurry into an office, you MIGHT get it before you have to leave.

I'm really not sure if the piece of paper will work. Do you have a local license branch you can go to and ask about the hold up? You could also try calling the hotel or club and asking if that will work.

You will have to have your old ID and the temp paper one. Must be a picture ID othrwise anyone could use the temp
